Ken Agyapong And Other MP Risk Fingered As Absentee MPs, Speaker To Rule Case In October-Ablakwa

The member of parliament for North Tongu constituency, honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has revealed that Kennedy Agyapong (member of parliament for Assin Central constituency) and Henry Quartey of Ayawaso Central/Greater Accra Regional Minister are among the most absentee MPs apart from Sarah Adwoa Sarfo.

Taking to his official Facebook page, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said it is in the interest of the parliament to adopt a non discriminatory approach in pursuing those absentee MPs.

He further commended the speaker, Alban Bagbin for taking a proactive measures by referring to Kennedy Agyapong and Henry Quartey to the privileges committee

He said the speaker will rule on the case in October and whether Ghanaians should prepare for by-elections.

"As we await Speaker Bagbin’s most anticipated October ruling on how Parliament complies with Article 97(1)(C) of the 1992 Constitution, and whether we should expect a by-election or by-elections; we can only hope that ultimately Parliament would be motivated by fidelity to law, deep wisdom and the national interest to reign supreme beyond any narrow sectarian interest" part of his statement read.
