The President is still on still outside the country seeing to other matters affecting the country. President Akufo-Addo has been busy for the past week. He oversaw a meeting of foreign delegates from ECOWAS to see to dealing with the military takeover in Guinea. After the meeting, he alongside Ouatarra of Ivory Coast travelled to Guinea to present the terms of ECOWAS to military leader Lt. Col. Mamady Doumbouya. From there he went to the United States.
In the United States, the president has been quite busy with meetings and presentations. Today, Thursday, September 23, 2021, the President met with the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris. Their meeting was to strengthen bilateral ties and also create more opportunities between the two countries.
The president posted the photos of his meeting with the United States VEEP and many are giving him credits for selling Ghana globally. Others however bashed the president for travelling around the world and yet achieving nothing for Ghana. In recent times, the travels of the president have come under scrutiny especially because of the extravagant planes he has been using.
It is unknown if the visit or meeting looked at the current discrimination of some African countries who travel to the US, UK and EU countries. It can be recalled that these countries made a law to bar some Africa countries because they do not consider their Covid-19 vaccines as genuine. This means that passengers will have to be quarantined for 10 days and made to take other tests.
