Gifty Twum Ampofo is one of the nominees of Akufo-Addo that will assist ministers to carry on with their various duties. When the NDC MPs was submitting the list of Deputy Minister-designate that will be approved, the name of Mrs Gifty Twum Ampofo who is the Minister-designate for Education was exempted.
Before the appointment committee, she was embroiled in a bribery claims by Mr. Suhuyini. She accosted the law maker for claiming that she has been involved in a bribery issue. Source further noted that the nominee later assaulted the MP verbally and that what has cost her losing her appointment as a deputy minister.
Following this, the nominee has met the NDC MPs today and has rendered an apology to the caucus to pardon her for she will not do such a thing again. She added that she will ensure to be faithful to the Nation and to the caucus if approved as a deputy minister. However, the Committee is still not certain whether to approve her or not.
