The 2024 general elections would be a very good contest as major political parties in the country have started making preparations towards. It is clear which individuals would be contesting for the various parties even though there might be other inclusions later on.
Several names have popped for the flagbearership position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). These include the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Trad Minister Hon. Alan Kojo Kyerematen and Agric Minister Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto. No name seems to have popped up for the running mate position of the party until today when Mr. Kwesi Pratt made it known in an interview the possible running mate of the NPP for the 2024 general elections.
The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper while speaking with host of Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana programme, Dr. Randy Abbey, stated that Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful would be running mate for the NPP in the general elections ahead. He added that the Ablekuma West MP has paid all her dues to the party and as such some powerful people of the party are considering her to partner whoever is elected as the party's flagbearer for the 2024 general elections. Her commitment to the party has earned her a ministerial position. Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has served in both terms of the President Akufo-Addo-led adminstration as the Communications and Digitization Minister.
If this happens then Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful would be the first female running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). What do you make of Mr. Pratt's assertions? Share your thoughts with us by leaving all your comments below.
