Return To Government Immediately The Car You Took – Paul Adom Otchere

Paul Adom Otchere on Good Evening Ghana has launched a blistering verbal attack on Togbe Afede, the overlord of the Asogli State. It is no secret that Paul was once a protégé of Togbe, but this didn’t prevent him from hitting hard at his former boss. It can be recalled that months ago Paul had in a touchscreen analysis insisted that Togbe attended only 16% of meetings of the Council of State. He insisted that with such a poor attendance it was only right that Togbe returned monies paid to him as ex-gratia.

Manasseh Azure and his Fourth Estate also did their research and it was revealed that the analysis given by Paul was wrong. Manasseh thus pointed out that in reality Togbe attended 45% of meeting and not 16% as claimed by Paul. Paul however felt offended by the claims of Manasseh and though Paul admitted that he might have erred he was appalled that Manasseh will defend 45% as a good score.

Paul blasted Manasseh and called on him to stop the crass journalism he is doing and learn from the best like himself. Paul said that Togbe should be sad for attending just less than half of the overall meetings. He challeneged Togbe to return the car he took from the government as part of his membership of the council. He explained that if Togbe Afede wants to prove that he is clean then he needs to return the things given him.

“You let the tax payer down. You let down the House of Chiefs. You only attended 45% of meetings. Return the car to the Council of State.” Paul said

Intel from the Right To Information shows that as Manasseh said Togbe attended 57 out of 125 meetings which represents 45% and not 16% as Paul had claimed on national TV. It is interesting that Paul chooses to run from the fact that he lied and rather dwelt on the idea that Manasseh should be ashamed for defending someone who couldn’t even attend 50% of meetings. It will be interesting to see if Togbe will return the car and other things he received.
