Nana Addo's apology to the people of Cape Coast is to make you unpopular; Dr. Bawumia told

His Excellency Nana Addo's apology he rendered to the people of Cape Coast over the comment he made that his party did not promise the people of Cape Coast a harbor has been met with mixed reactions. Nana Addo admitted to having erred in the pronouncement he made to the people of Cape Coast, in an interview with Kwame Sefa Kayi on Peace FM ( on October 21), as part of his tour of the Greater Accra Region.

“Let me just confess it. I made a mistake. Presidents are human after all, we are not supermen. We make mistakes", he said.

Many Ghanaians have since then reacted to the President's apology to the people of Cape Coast. Some believe the President has done the needful to come out to boldly accept his mistake and accordingly render an unqualified apology. Some people also criticized the President for making such a grave error. One of such people is Black Rasta; a vocal radio presenter at Zylophone radio.

According to Black Rasta, what the President has done is on purpose and aimed at casting a slut upon the presidential ambition of Dr. Bawumia. It will be recalled that, though the harbor promise was crafted in the NPP'S 2020 manifesto, it was the Vice-president who declared it to the people of Cape Coast during the party's manifesto launch in the run-up to the 2020 elections. To Black Rasta, the people of Cape Coast will surely react any time the Vice-president will go there.

He added that the New Patriotic Party has used Dr. Bawumia to gain political power and has decided to dumb him. He said the supposed mistake made by Nana Addo has shattered the political ambition of Dr. Bawumia. He, therefore, advised the Vice-president to remain silent since he has lost credibility.
