The outspoke gon TV3 journalist and host of 'New Day' Johnnie Hughes have applauded the Electoral Commission and Jean Mensah for heeding to their passionate appeal some time ago to pay their field operatives for their services in the 2020 elections.
Johnnie Hughes made this statement on the 'New Day' on TV3 this morning, 27th May 2021, when he confirmed that the Electoral Commission has started paying its field operatives.
According to Johnnie Hughes, he has gotten some information that the EC has started the payment of its ad-hoc staff, but there are still a few concerns about those who did the district-level elections in 2019.
"We are happy that you listened to our appeal, and you are now paying our people as you were supposed to have done a very long time ago.
We are happy that Madam Jean Mensah and her staffs are now playing the ball as they ought to have played." - he said
He added that however if there is some more, they should settle them and pay them. He called on all those who have received their payment to let them know through their social media pages.
