EC Call On Police To Investigative Mahama Over 2020 Elections Allegations

The Electoral Commission has called on the Ghana Police Service to investigate former President John Mahama over his latest allegations against the Commission.

At a press conference held today at the EC Head office, the Commission indicated that, the allegations by John Mahama is serious and he should be invited by the Police to prove his allegations.

According to a Deputy Chair person of the Commission, Dr. Bossman Asare, the former President must provide evidence to support his claims of thumbprinted ballots papers by the Electoral Commission.

The response from the EC follows allegations by the former President that, the Commission thumbprinted one Million ballot papers in favor of President Akufo-Addo in the 2020 elections.

The Electoral Commission has also refuted allegations by Mr. Mahama that, the declaration of the December election results was influenced by the military.

The Commission explained that, the media and election observers from local and international took part in the process as it was participatory.
