It has been a long day as the ruling New Patriotic Party held her National Delegates Conference to elect new national executives to lead the party for the next general elections. The elections were expected to elect the next breed of executives to lead the NPP to possibly break the 8. The elections were characterized by vote buying as bundles cash were distributed among delegates. The voting itself was done peacefully.
Interestingly, even before results could trickle in, some supporters were seen clearly not happy with the way monies were shared to buy votes. Perhaps the biggest surprise was story to tell is how come John Boadu lost to Justin Frimpong Koduah. Below are the official results of the NPP National Executives. For the National Women’s Organizer, Kate Gyamfuah had an easy day in the park when she easily beat her other competitors.
Abdul Aziz Futah picked up the Nasara Coordinator position. Rita Asobayie rose above her colleagues to win the First Vice Chairman position. Henry Nana Boakye picked up the National Organizer after a close contest. Dr. Dwamena was able to pick up the National Treasurer position. Salam Mustapha picked up the National Youth Organizer position.
Surprisingly, John Boadu, the incumbent General Secretary was defeated by JFK. Not many expected this to happen but it seems JFK had done his homework well and it paid off.
The Biggest position on the day was picked by Stephen Ntim who emerged as the new NPP Chairman. He is expected to unite the party to win the next general elections
