Before the 2020 elections, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) announced an initiative which will be considered if the party wins the 2020 elections. This announcement was made by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, concerning the 'okada for car scheme'. The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), however, also promised to train these okada riders and legalize their business if they are re-elected into power.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP), having won the elections, intend to fulfill their promise made in order to provide a better and safer alternative to commercial motorbikers, popularly known as 'okada riders'.
They have announced their plans to Okada riders by allowing them to own their vehicles, through adjustable payment plans.
The first phase of the 'Okada for Car' initiative would begin with the acquisition of enough tiny quadricycles for these Okada riders. This initiative taken by the government is supposed to provide a safer transport means for both drivers and passengers.
According to the government, Okada riders who would like to own one of these quadricycles must register and trade their motorcycles for the vehicles.
Afterwards, the government will register the new vehicles in the driver's name. The driver is supposed to pay the value difference between the motorcycle and the quadricycle under a flexible payment by installment.
Reportedly, only Okada motors and drivers who have been registered with the DVLA would be eligible to register and apply for these new quadricycles.

What do you think? Will this initiative be trustworthy? Will this apply to all eligible drivers?
