The disheartening effects of the coronavirus pandemic coerced many leaders to place measures to stem its spread. Ghana, no exception, closed certain borders and banned social gatherings, a decision that was announced by the President. Some of the ban were removed after the active cases declined and social gatherings were eased.
Few days ago, some aggrieved residents and youths of Ketu South embarked on a demonstration to register their displeasure over the continuous closure of their borders. According to these youths, many other borders and sanctions have been removed except theirs which is an unfair treatment towards them.
Today, August 30, 2021 ace broadcast Journalist and host of TV3's New Day show, Johnny Hughes interviewed two outspoken communicators from the NPP and NDC respectively. It was a heated discussion as the host interposed the NPP communicator in what appeared to be fierce.
According to the government Communicator, President Akuffo-Addo is making appropriate decisions to secure that place. He emphasized that the decision is to stem the spread of th coronavirus pandemic. He alleged that, revelations has it that the border if not closed can cause an upsurge in the cases.
However, it seems this comment did not go down well with Johnny Hughes who questioned the credibility of his assertion. Johnny body indicated that the government is already aware of how people are trooping in through that border. He called on leaders to either enforce the regulation or open the borders to ease economic activities in the area.
"Isn't the government aware of how people are trooping in. They might be right to embark on the protest. The regulations are not being enforced. I find it very difficult to understand what's happening over there.
