The former Deputy General Secretary of the main opposition National National Democratic Congress(NDC) has thrown his support for the campaign to make Accra work again! embarked on by the Greater Regional Coordinating Council(RCC) led by Henry Quartey and New Patriotic Party’s Member of Parliament(MP) for Ayawaso Central Constituency.
Mr. Koku Anyidoho, onetime Director of Communications under the late President John Evans Atta-Mills pledged his support for the decongestion exercise by the Greater Accra Regional Minister despite flakes from his own party members speaking on Accra-based Okay FM’s morning show hosted by Kwame Nkrumah Tikese.
‘As a country this what we need to grow, it does mean that because I am in a party in opposition anything the governing party must perhaps be wrong.
We need to support each other when things are going right and for the good of the ordinary person, he said.
I hereby declare my full support for the ‘Let Accra Work Again Campaign’ to make Accra clean again! He stressed.
According to him, what the Regional Minister is doing in Accra must be supported by all and subsequently replicated in all fifteen regional capitals.
The Regional Minister must not be taunted in any way because it is for the good of the people.
Years ago, we supported the likes of Salifu Amankwah to bring sanity to circle what is now known as Kwame Nkrumah Circle in the Central Business Districts (CBDs) of Accra.
The former Director of Communications at the Presidency who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Atta-Mills Institute, a policy think tank said the initiative by the Regional Minister is laudable and must be commended by all well-meaning people.
His activities are devoid of partisan politics as we have known to be the usual phenomenon in Ghana over the years, he maintained.
Ghana is the only nation we have and we safeguard it for development.
