"I Challenge Lordina To Refund 13 Years Allowances Paid To Her Or We Will Protest Against Her"-NanaB

The First Lady of the Republic, Her Excellency Mrs Reebecca Akufo-Addo yesterday, Monday, 12th July 2021 issued a statement that she is will refund all the allowances paid to her since her husband, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo took over as President of the State.

In view of this, the First Lady will be refunding an accumulated some of GHS 899,097.84 to the State. This according to her is her own personal decision and she is not influenced by anyone to do so. This statement within the media space has become a topic as some Ghanaians argued that this may out of pressure from the general public to decline the salaries agreed to be paid to her.

The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye aka Nana-B has reacted to this issue of the First Lady agreeing to refund all allowances. Nana-B said that Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo by this act has shown great patriotism to the State. He, therefore, challenge the Former First Lady of the Republic, Her Excellency Lordina Mahama to follow the patriotic lifestyle of Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo and refund all the allowances paid to her.

According to Nana-B, the Former First lady has been receiving allowances since 2009 when her husband, Ex-President John Dramani Mahama became Vice President to late Professor John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills. Even after the husband lost the elections in 2016, she has been receiving allowances up till now. So from 2009 to 2021 is 13 years and Nana-B wants the former First Lady to refund an accumulated sum of GHS 3,272,256 to the State.

Henry Nana Boakye threatened that if Mrs Lordina Mahama does not refund this money to the State, the youths of this country will protest against her on the street.

This is what Nana-B wrote on Facebook:

First lady Madam Rebecca Akufo-Addo has decided to refund GHS 899,097.84 since she became the first lady of the Republic. By this singular act of patriotism, I, therefore, challenge Madam Lordina Mahama, the former first lady of the Republic to also refund the GHS 3,272,256 to the state which is an accumulation of almost 13 years of being a first lady and a former first lady with immediate effect. If this is not done the youth of this country will protest and revolt.
