The New Patriotic Party delegates are all currently gathered at the Accra Sports Stadium for their national delegates conference. They have gathered to elect national officers for the party. There are many portfolios up for grabs. The positions being contested for are The national chairman, vice chairman, general secretary, youth organiser, women's organiser, national organiser, Nasara Coordinator and Treasurer.
Of all these positions, the one that is of much interest and is gathering all the attention is the national chairman position. This position is being contested by 7 aspirants. Ayikoi Otu was initially part but later withdrew his candidature. The political connoisseurs have tipped the fight to be keenly contested between Stephen Ntim and Asamoah Boateng. The two are the front runners for the position.
This will be the 5th time Stephen Ntim will be contesting for the chairmanship position. He has contested in the last 4 elections for the chairmanship slot but lost narrowly on each occasion. Many are tipping him to be lucky this time around. A victory for Ntim wouldn't be surprising at all.
