CPP Has Akosombo, NPP Has Bui Dam But NDC Has No Dam: Check Out How Ghanaians Are Reacting To This

Successive government have time and time again tried to compare how progressive they have been. Since the inception of the 4th Republic the ruling New Patriotic Party and the opposition National Democratic Congress have ruled the country. Both have produced leaders that have tried to match the successes of the Kwame Nkrumah government.

Some of the areas of comparison include education, health, sports etc. One of controversially talked about sector is energy. Indeed, Ghana has witnessed power crises over the years with each government claiming to have solved it in part. The NDC before they left office in January 2017 bragged that they have solved the dumsor crises they inherited.

Truly when John Mahama was leaving office cases of power shutdowns had reduced drastically with supply of power consistent. However, the NPP who took over claimed otherwise. Thus it turned into a banter between the two over who really solved the problem.

In a Facebook post on a page called Bawumia TV, the owner of the page noted that CPP built the Akosombo dam while the NPP build the Bui dam but the NDC has nothing to show after 37 years in power.

The post added a photo showing solar panels erected to power the Bui dam. This post of shading the NDC didn’t go unchallenged as comments flooded the post to debunk the view that the NDC did nothing in the energy sector. Check out some of the comments.
