"I Will Be Honored To Be President" - Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto Shares Presidential Ambitions

The Minister of Food and Agriculture appeared on TV3 today on Newday show in an exclusive interview hosted by Johnnie Hughes. In the interview, was an issue raised by Johnnie Hughes about his Presidential ambitions. The interview lasted almost an hour today 11th August, 2022.

Johnnie Hughes asked Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto about the allegations that he went around raising billboards on the street about his ambitions to become the next President of Ghana. He asked him whether that was true and if he actually did that.

The Agric Minister, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto replied and said "Johnnie Hughes you should know better. As I'm sitting here right now, do you think a man like me can hold an axe go to the street dig and then raise billboards? It is all a lie Johnnie, you of all people should know better that I cannot even hold an axe". You don't have to believe anything you here in the public about people.

Johnnie Hughes after the Agric Minister's reply went on to ask him if he would like to be president in future. Putting the billboard allegations aside, He said " Would you like to become a President?".

Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto replied and said he is a politician and every politician wishes to reach that higher level. He is willing and will any day take that chance to become a President should it present itself to him. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto said "Every politician want to get to that higher level and if his people will present him to stand for an election to be president, then why not. I will be very honored to President"

Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto after denying the billboard allegations against him, made his Presidential ambitions clear to Johnnie Hughes and Ghanaians who were watching and listening to him.
