The Comptroller General of Ghana Immigration Service, Mr. Kwame Asuah Takyi has said that Asantehene’s prayers are one amongst the reasons Ghana is free from terrorist attacks.
According to him, the rate at which other African countries experience terror attacks is high, yet, Ghana shares borders with such countries, yet, have not experienced any.
“look at Ghana now and the Sahelian, people are worrying Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso and it seems God loves Ghana.
“it’s also by the prayers of Otumfuo for the nation, I ask for God’s blessings and long life for him”, he added.
At the Manhyia Palace, General Asuah Takyi thanked Otumfuo for his contribution towards peace in the country. He also showed appreciation for his recognition during the Millennium Excellence Award which he dedicates to the immigration service.
“Otumfuo was monitoring my service with the immigration based on which I was honored so I say when God gives you the authority you do well to do your best”.
“I’m here to thank Otumfuo for making possible my recognition at the Millenium Excellence Award,” he continues to say.
Accompanied by other immigration officers, he asked for more support in the form of prayers as they handle Ghana’s safety in the field of their work.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, expressed belief in them to work within their capacity and get a hold of dangerous migrants.
“We share borders with Burkina Faso and terrorists move in and out yet Ghana alone hasn’t experienced terrorism or anything of the sort, it is by the grace of God, “it is also from your work as immigration officers.”
“The Chinese involved in galamsey came in through your borders and it’s all by grace that we’ve managed the situation, what’s left is to maintain the situation and make sure such thing does not happen again”, the Asante Monarch continued.
The Asantehene concluded that “It is based on your efforts that the country has managed Chinese presence and hopes that more will be done in the coming days”.
