Ghana, a peace country. Ghana, a nation of democracy. Ghana, a nation of higher integrity. Ghana, land of freedom. Ghana is a motherland for the citizens, both residents and non-residents.
Dating from the time of the arrivals of the colonial masters to today, Ghana, formerly Gold Coast, has been seen a very peaceful and God-fearing country with higher level of integrity. Basically, these are fact claims. Why? Gone and dead Great leaders of the nation: Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and his team, Prof. Evans Atta Mills, et el, have fought a good fight in ruling the nation with the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
Commonly, the constitution contains the set of laws in ruling the country. After independence, this constitution was in force and bitting. Now, the constitution is a cover pages while the content is full of adopted laws in ruling the nation. The native law is now overthrown blindly to most of the citizens.
Globally, Ghana is known as a democratic country but inwardly, she is not. She has craved and passed her own laws, ways and criteria for ruling her citizens.
Below, I have identified and exposed these secret laws adopted by Ghana especially the leaders in the nation in ruling the country.
1.THE SELF-INTEREST DRIVEN LAW.
The first secret adopted law is the Self-Interest Driven Law(SID). This law implements and enacts the commoly used statement "If I were you, I would do same." It is obvious to point out to incidences among our leaders depicting SID. The main object of this law is to embezzle the nationa's fund. If a country is ruled with SID, do you expect good governance?
2. The Concept of Bribery and Corruption (CBC).
This secret law is breed of SID. Corruption in Ghana has been common since independence. Since 2006, Ghana's score and ranking on the Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index has improved slightly, ranked higher than Italy and Brazil. However, there is a growing perception in Ghana that government-related corruption is on the rise, ranked 64th in 2012, tied with Lesotho. Even though corruption in Ghana is relatively low when compared to other countries in Africa, businesses frequently quote corruption as an obstacle for doing business in the country. Corruption occurs often in locally funded contracts, companies are subject to bribes when operating in rural areas. The rate of corruption in the country is like a derivative of the speed of light. The country is unfairly ruled. Ghanaians are blinded indeed. Just identity some instances yourself.
3. THE FAVOURITISM LAW.
Favouritism in this context is the practice of giving unfair preferential treatment to one person or group at the expense of another. This is openly seen in the nation. I am very sure you have once experienced the Law of Favouritism in your favour or went against you.
In the nutshell, the bitting laws of the country now are :The Self-Interest Driven Law, The Concept of Bribery and Corruption and lastly The Law of Favouritism.
Have you ever thought of these laws? They are basically not acceptable in the society and are frown upon. What do we see in the country now? These laws are not the determinants and moving tools used in ruling the country.
It's time for the citizens to clamour on the enforcement of right laws of the country.
This is an observation.
Please if you have any other secret law, drop it in the comment box.
Thank you all.
