Will The Death of Jerry Rawlings cause history to repeat itself?

Ghana has come to a point where the death of prominent party members are believed to be a tool to winning sympathy votes from non party members. The case of Atta Mills and and that of Aliu Mahama can be used as case study.Just as Ghanaians were hit with the death of Prof. Atta Mills and that of Mr. Aliu Mahama before the 2012 polls, some Ghanaians have expressed concerns that the death of Ex President Jerry John Rawlings might have an impact on the 2020 elections.

Many of which believe that His demise might buy the NDC the sympathy of non party members to vote for them in the upcoming post.

Others believe that the Ghanaian election has never been under the influence of sympathy votes.

According to these group of people, the Ghanaian election has always been won by the best and most qualified political parties.

We are yet to hear more from the office of the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party as well as the other Political Parties respectfully with regards to this topic.
