It was an interesting session as the appointments committee continued with the vetting process. Already a number of minister designates have been vetted and there has been some intelligent and funny responses from the minister nominees.
A number of questions emerged relating to Galamsey. Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini asked him the mandate given to him by the president to do in that field. According to Suhuyini, the president in the SONA 2021 he hinted that he had failed in the fight so far.
According to Abu Jinapor, Galamsey has been a problem of the country for so long a time. He noted that the president has so far walked his talk by promising to put his presidency on the line if he fails with the issues on Galamsey. He maintained that the results of the 2020 elections shows that the president had done well in fighting against Galamsey.
“The president put his presidency on the line and has done so well. The results of the 2020 elections are there to prove that” he said.
