A Ghanaian politician, founder and leader of Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor has said that though her party is not in power, nobody can cease her from adding her voice to the development of this country.
As a reminder, there was two-day National Consultative Dialogue on galamsey last week at the Accra International Conference Centre attended by the president and other high-profile stakeholders in the lands sector to solicit views, proposals and suggestions on how to effectively tackle the incidence of galamsey which has been one of the biggest challenges of the Akufo-Addo government.
Akua Donkor speaking about the galamsey issue firstly praised the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his fight against galamsey.
Most Ghanaians thought Nana Akufo-Addo would be banning galamsey but he has not done that. Instead Nana Addo is putting measures in place for the people in this country to do it in a way that will not destroy our lands and water bodies.
She added that the leadership of this country do not invite her to participate actively in building this nation because she cannot speak English.
She said and I quote, "non of you hear can cease me from speaking my mind just because I can't speak English. I will always make my voice count because I am part of Ghana".
English is not our language and shouldn't be the reason why some of us are neglected, she added.
