For some time now, one issue trending on both social and traditional media is the compulsory retirement of the former Auditor General who was appointed by Mahama just after he lost the 2016 elections, Mr Daniel Yaw Domelevo.
The president if the republic, Akufo Addo ordered the then Auditor general to proceed on a One hundred and thirteen days mandatory leave. This order from the president made Ghanaians chastised the president and begun to read political meanings into it.
The several Civil Society Organizations, CSOs did not let the issue go Scott free without giving their opinion. They suggested the treatment giving to Mr Daniel domelovo was not a fair one and demanded the president reinstate him back to his post.
Akufo Addo and his government was the receiving end of the insults and criticism from these CSOs and many Ghanaians especially, those from the opposition National Democratic Congress until a very big secret about the nationality of Domelevo went viral.
The reason that was given by this current Akufo Addo government was that the former Auditor general is not a Ghanaian, but a Togolese by birth. This revelation was made known by the SSNIT and passport department.
In view of this the Bono Regional chairman of the ruling NPP, Mr Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC has launched an attack on these CSOs in the country.
Speaking live on Net 2 television's "The Dialogue" , Abronye further revealed that Mr Daniel Domelevo was sacked from his office as the Auditor general because he forged his three different documents to change his nationality from Togo to Ghana.
According to him, when filing his forms at the time he was appointed as the Auditor general, he confirmed Ada as his place of birth, but in his two previous documents, his SSNIT and Passport his place of birth were Togbede in Togo and Kumasi respectively.
"One person having three different palaces of birth and those so called CSOs had the guts to insult the president of the land, Akufo Addo for sacking such a person from his office. Its sad our so called CSOs are not constructive enough they just get paid to insult and criticise the government. All those CSOs should cone out and apologize to the president or else they should be prepared to be sued for defamation", he angrily warned.
Have these Civil society organizations lost their focus and just act according to what they are given as Abronye is alleging? Do you think Abronye has a case in warning these CSOs or it's one of those empty threats he is fond of issuing?
