I'm Very Happy That Otumfuo Has Spoken Up About The Dumsor - Nii Lante Vanderpuye

The Member of Parliament for the Odododiodio constituency, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has applauded the King of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, for his recent comment on power outages in the Ashanti region. According to him, he is very happy that finally, Otumfuo has Spoken up about the dumsor in the country.

Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye made this statement on 'THE GUMBE SHOW' on tv XYZ yesterday, 2nd December 2021, when reacted to the comments by Otumfuo Osei Tutu that the intermittent power outages (dumsor) have destroyed his home appliances.

According to Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, he is very happy that Otumfuo Osei Tutu, for the first time, is saying that if nobody wants to speak up in this country, he will speak up.

Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye indicated that had Otumfuo Osei Tutu sat unconcerned for his people in the Ashanti region to suffer, then he doesn't deserve to sit on the stool. So, he was right to speak up on behalf of his people.

"I am very happy that he has spoken about incessant power outages in the Ashanti region because in today's Ghana, people have been muted from speaking up."

He revealed that the Pastors and people who were vocal about the previous government can no longer speak up out of fear of intimidation. So, if Otumfuo Osei Tutu has spoken, he is happy because gradually, Ghanaians are finding their voices again.

"For the past months, I've been to the Ashanti region three times for funerals and other businesses, and wherever you will go, people are wailing that their businesses are being destroyed especially, the cold store operators are crying that their fishes are going bad because of the rampant dumsor."

Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye added that what pains him more about the dumsor in the Ashanti region is that the current minister of Energy, Mathew Opoku Prempeh, comes from the Ashanti region.

In times past, Mathew Opoku Prempeh would have been the first person to accuse the former John Mahama's government of neglecting the Ashanti region that's why there are experiencing the dumsor, but now the ball is in his court, and he is fumbling.
