Covid-19: Heman Chief Pays Three Months Water Bills For His Subjects

The Chief of Akyem Hemang in the Fanteakwa South District of Eastern region, Osabarima Professor Mmirrikkissi Okasum Apori Atta has done it again, by accepting to pay for three months water bills for his subjects following the decision by government directing Ghana water company limited to ensure there is constant but free supply of water for three months amid the deadly coronavirus pandemic meanwhile, there is not a single pipeline from the GWCL in the community.

The laudable decision by the chief came to bare as a major source of water for domestic use has been polluted by the activities of illegal mining ongoing in the community.

In an interview with the Assembly member of the town, Hon. Johnson Appiah as to whether they would benefit from the presidents free water supply, he disclosed that their chief had already made provisions for that.

He reiterated why his chief had consistently kicked against illegal mining in his community even as they knew the consequences at hand.

The anti galamsey crusader chief has negotiated with a private water company in the community to allow his subjects to fetch the water for free from April, May to June.
