There must be something amiss with Jean Mensah and her colleagues in the leadership of the Electoral Commission.
After spending 80 million dollars on a superfluous new register for the 2020 elections on the whim of President Akufo-Addo and his NPP, there's another intent to spend another money to compile a new register for the 2024 elections with the Ghana card as the only source of identification.
What's the objective of a new register when many Ghanaians are facing harsh economic ruddiness from a government that might be destined to be ejected by the electorate in 2024.
According to the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, a new registration on this basis is a wasteful expenditure and will disenfranchise a lot of Ghanaians who have not registered or secured their cards yet.
Haruna Iddrisu addressed the press in Parliament and said: “Our understanding as we pick it up is that the EC is desperately planning to discard the 2020 voters register and replace it with a new voter register, which will cause taxpayers and the people of Ghana 80 million dollars thereabout.”
What kind of ridiculous leadership is this?
