Bet Me, NDC will lose more Voltarian votes due to this particular statement in 2018. (Flashback)

In nine days time Ghanaians will form queues at the various polling stations to exercise their franchise to elect Ghana's next head of state as enshrined in the 1992 constitution.

It is a true fact that in every single election since 1992, the fate of the NDC has hugely been dependent on the voter turnout from the Volta region which is believed and known to be the strong hold of the party. It is not surprising this is the case, because the NDC as a party has it's root from the Volta land; the late former president Rawlings homeland.

If the NDC will have any chance at all of winning this year's elections they should ensure they churn out over 85% of the total votes from the Volta region. But the big question is, will that be possible looking at the revelations that has resurfaced in the public domain regarding how the NDC as a party has sidelined the people of the Volta region.

NDC as a party was one party that had most of it executive positions held by Voltarians, but all of them lost out their positions in the party during their last party primaries in 2018.

Madam Anita Desooso lost her position as the National organiser, Dan Agbodakpi lost as the party chairman to Ofosu Ampofo, Fred Agbenyo also lost the communication director position to Sammy Gyamfi and Koku Anyidoho loosing out to Johnson Assiedu Nketia as General secretary.

Mrs. Anita Desooso, a member of the Volta caucus the NDC, said after their primaries that the huge loss suffered by the voltarians would cost the party come 2020. She further confirmed the only positions occupied by voltarians in the party are deputy positions. (Ghanaweb.com 2018).

If this statement from Madam Desooso is anything to go by then Mahama and the NDC will lose about 40% votes from the voltarians. The voltarians will not see themselves to be direct part of the party as a result to this particular statement coupled with the fact that the founder who was also a voltarian is no more.
