Ghana will turn 64 in some few days to come. However, all is not well with the country. some argue that Ghana was far better than it was before independence than it is now. May problems plague the nations with the top most reason attributed to bad leadership.
On UTV’s ‘Critical Issues’ today, Saturday, February 27, 2021, Afia Pokua threw hot salvos at the leaders of the nations. She noted that Ghana is far behind some countries because of the decisions that the leaders have made.
“Ghana is beyond pension and still the country has nothing to show. During Mahama’s time he was restricted by the international creditors from employing workers because Ghana was in debt. During his time as president his hands were tied. During the time of Mills, we were in huge debts that we had to use our oil as collateral. Currently, the country is officially under HIPC and yet no one ones to admit.
Ghana has no transformational leaders. Many issues trending will one day stop but bread and butter issues will not end. Our young men and women have no jobs. These are the issues we need to talk about. Malaysia, Singapore and UAE were all behind Ghana 60 years ago. Ghana lacks transformational leaders. I will be bold and say this so that one day my children will be proud of me” Afia charged.
Do you agree with Afia that transformational leaders are the beginning of Ghana’s woes? What other issues are hindering Ghana from progress? Could we have done more in the past 63 years?
