A youth activist of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Della Coffie is of the view that, former President John Mahama decision to run as flagbearer of the Party for the 2024 elections is a terrible idea for the NDC.
According to Della Coffie, just like the 2020 elections, the political climate today favors change of leadership and predictably, there are some NDC supporters who believes that, after 8 years of NPP governonce, it is NDC's time and they assumed the party has won the elections even before the polls.
He added that, to be fair to the proponents of the above arguments, the NDC really should be ahead of the NPP, especially given that, the NPP government seems to be losing its political goodwill, but he added that, the NDC has done very little to take advantage of the NPP apparent political downturn.
He further added that, should the NPP be able hold on to the Ashanti Region, the NDC will be on perpetual opposition.
