The debate over the recommendations made by the three-member ministerial committee set up by the Ministry of Interior about the Ejura disturbances lingers on. The committee which was set up by the directive of the president at the back of disturbances that occurred following a clash between the military and the youth of Ejura during a protest after the murder of social activist, Ibrahim Mohammed, popularly called Kaaka, completed it works and made some recommendations.
The committee's recommendations are however met with mixed reactions as the family of the slain Kakaa reject the recommendations made. The bone of contention is the part of the committee's recommendations that suggest that the deceased was not killed in connection with the roles he played in the fixthecountry movement, but the cause of his death could be traced to the family. Vladimir Antwi Danso, Director, Academic Affairs of the Ghana Armed Forces, who was one of the members of the committee, has been engaging the media to explain what the main task of the committee was, and what informed the recommendations they came out with.
It however seems explanations given by Vladimir Antwi Danso are reopening old wounds of the bereaved family. In response to this, Captain Smart on his Maakye Morning Show raised some serious allegations against the committee. Captain Smart claimed that the recommendations of the committee were written down before the committee started its works. To him, the committee just sat to affirm the assertion held that Kakaa was killed by a close relation.
He further stressed that Vladimir Antwi Danso is being used by the government because of his social capital. He advised Dr. Vladimir Antwi Danso to desist from speaking to the public as it may mar his hard-earned reputation.
