The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that there would be interruption of power supply in some parts of Accra starting on Thursday 11th February 2021. The interruption in power supy will last for some seven days period.
In an a statement which contained the announcement of the interruption was released on Tuesday 9th February, 2021. According to the ECG, the interruption in power supply in some areas is due to the need to undertake some improvement works. This is "to enable a contractor to commence excavation works on interconnect load from the Pokuase Bulk Supply Point (BSP) to the Kanda and Airport substations", part of the statement read.
In view of this exercise, the areas to be affected include: Roman Ridge, part of Airport Residential Area, Air Site Hotel, Prim rose place and its environs, ECG Roman Ridge District Office, Accra Girls, Maamobi, Kotobabi Policy Clinic, Ghana Institute of Engineers, Ebony, Abavana Down, Kotobabi Down, Modes Filling Station, Alamo, Tobinco Pharmaceuticals and parts of Tesano.
The scheduled durations as captured in the statement are as follows.
Thursday 11th February, 2021, 10:00am-4:00pm
Tuesday 16th February, 2021, 10:00am-4:00pm
Friday 19th February, 2021, 10:00am-4:00pm
Monday 22nd February, 2021, 10:00am-4:00pm
Thursday 25th February, 2021, 10:00am-4:00pm
Tuesday 2nd March, 2021, 10:00am-4:00pm
Friday 5th March, 2021, 10:00am-4:00pm
The statement revealed that ECG apologises for any inconvenience that would arise as a result of the exercise. Below is a screenshot of the announcement.
