Alban Bagbin Defends His Decision To Refer Adwoa Safo, Ken Agyapong After Muntaka Challenged Him.

Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has shielded his choice to follow up on a request against three New Devoted Party (NPP) Members of Parliament, brought before him by a previous Kumbungu administrator, Ras Mubarak.

This was after Public Popularity based Congress (NDC) MP Muntaka Mubarak tested his decision.

The MPs are Kennedy Agyapong Assin Focal, Sarah Adwoa Safo, Arch Kwabenya and Henry Quartey, Ayawaso Focal.

In any case, Muntaka challenged the Speaker's decision and said assuming the choice is permitted to stand, it will set a hazardous priority that can be utilized by a "tyrant speaker" in future to hurt officials.

"Assuming that we permit this to stand it will become a point of reference, tomorrow it might sting us all," he said.

Answering Muntaka's accommodation, the Speaker said "You don't believe a speaker should be a despot yet you are ready to make space for boards of trustees to be tyrants. Whenever the panel concludes then that is all there is to it.

"The matter is before the House, it isn't long before the Council. I can't come and stay here to pronounce a seat empty without following a technique."

He added that the matter will be submitted to the House and the House will take a choice on its report.

"Honor's board of trustees, you are so coordinated, handle the matter, report back to the House," Mr Bagbin said.

Ras Mubarak appealed to the Speaker to teach these administrators for absenting themselves from Parliament without consent.

In his request, he said "It has come to my notification through parliament's Hansard, and paper and radio reports that about four Members of Parliament, specifically Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, MP for Arch Kwabenya; Hon. Henry Quartey, MP for Ayawaso Focal; Hon. Ebenezer Kojo Kum, MP for Ahanta West; and Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, MP for Assin Focal have all absented themselves from Parliament for additional

than fifteen sittings of a gathering of Parliament without the consent of Mr Speaker recorded as a hard copy.

"Taking into account this announced break of the sacred arrangement, I deferentially appeal your high office to guide for their lead to allude to the Honors Advisory group for thought and important activity."
