Ghana is suffering, fuel prices going up periodically, the cedi depreciating against the dollar day in day out, prices of items going up and up, transport fares getting out of hand here. It is now the concern of Captain Smart to alert the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo and his government about the suffering of their own people.
The President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo has given a 4% increment to the public sector workers in the country, but Captain Smart sees it to be not enough for them and that the President should do something about it and increase the percentage to double figures. He said if 4% is the only option then he thinks 0% is even better.
Captain Smart on Onua TV told the public sector workers not to be deceived by that little increment. He added that they should not accept that and also tell President Nana Akufo-Addo that they do not need his 4% increment, for where Ghana is now. Assuming someone receives GHC2000 in a month, then it means they will receive GHC2080, which is very small, just GHC80.
He made mention of the suffering public sector workers are going through. The transport fares they pay alone to and back from work, their kids school fees and feeding, money for emergency situations and all. And now you want to increase for just 4% after this long time since the last increment. Meanwhile they gave themselves over 70% increment.
