On Monday 21st June, 2021, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo tour some part of the northern part of the country where he visited Bawku to call on the elders and opinion leaders of the town.
In their words, they thanked president Akufo Addo for the free water and electricity which they enjoyed during the covid-19 period indicating that it has ameliorated the plight of the citizenry which is worth
Addressing the president, the elders indicated that they have always been Akufo Addo's staunch supporters and believe in Nana Addo's leadership ever since he declared his intentions to become the president in 2007.
“Our support for you and the tradition is unwavering and unalloyed. Our stance has been vindicated considering what your government has been able to do within the constraints for the past four and half years since you assumed office as President.” they said
They also thanked the president for flagship programmes such as the free SHS, planting for food and jobs, nabco etc.
Akufo Addo in his speech also assured the chief of his support for education and his intention to make the Free SHS a favourable one by building more schools, District Hospital, community day SHS and roads for the people of Bawku.
