Former President John Dramani Mahama had admonished all grassroots of the party to “kill themselves” for the party and the party will not forget them when it comes to power.
John Dramani Mahama made this clarion call when addressing some grassroot members of the National Democratic Congress in the Eastern region as part of his “Thank You Tour” he is currently embarking on across the length and breadth of the country.
The party claims that the 2020 elections was rigged by some EC officials in favor of the New Patriotic Party and lack of strict vigilance on the part of some polling station agents who represented the party.
The NDC has served notice that it would be very vigilant in all polling stations across the country in 2024 and has warned against any attempt by the NPP or EC to rig the elections.
It has dubbed the 2024 elections as “do or die” affair.
Addressing members of the party in the Eastern region, John Dramani Mahama said; “ Kill yourself for the party and the party will not forget you if we come to power. The party will reciprocate if you kill yourself for it. We will never forget you”.
This statement has attracted widespread condemnation from members of the New Patriotic Party with suggestions that the former President is advocating violence.
