God's mind Captain Smart, the host of the Onua TV breakfast show, has claimed that some foreign-based groups are paying powerful Ghanaians large sums of money to lobby for the legalization of LGBTQ+ in the country.
According to Captain Smart, certain radio celebrities, religious leaders, and political figures have fell for the hook and are now defending the cause of LGBTQ+ people in the United States.
Captain Smart revealed similar advances were made to him and private legal practitioner Moses Foh-Amoaning on his show on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
He and Foh-Amoaning were each promised $200,000 to lobby for LGBTQ+ rights in the country, he claimed.
Some LGBTQ+ rights activists met with him and Moses Foh-Amoaning separately to persuade them to support the cause, he said.
Captain Smart revealed that he declined the offer because if he had chosen money above ideals, his conscience would have judged him incorrectly.
"Lawyer Foh-Amoaning and I were given proposals to consider. They met the two of us individually at the same location. They wanted me to take US$200,000 to advocate for LGBTQ rights because they like how I handle challenges. He added, "They also wanted me to recruit people to advocate for this idiotic thing."
Captain Smart said that a well-known female TV host had been paid to protect and push for LGBTQ+ rights in the country.
He urged President Akufo-Addo and the National Cathedral's fundraising committee not to take any funds from pro-LGBTQ+ individuals or organizations.
"I'm pleading with the President not to take any funds for the National Cathedral from the LGBTQI community." It's preferable to not build it at all than to do it with LGBTQ funds. Anyone attempting to use LGBTQ+ funds to support the National Cathedral will be punished."
