On GHOne’s ‘GHToday’ Newspaper session today Serwaa Amihere discussed with her panelist the achievements of Akufo-Addo as enumerated by Vice President Bawumia on social media. The achievements have generated so much controversy on social media with many alleging that the numbers are not entirely right.
According to Collins Adomako, MP for Afigya Kwabre North, all that Dr. Bawumia said without doubts are true. He noted that those who counter the achievements have no evidence. Serwaa reminded him that despite the Vice President recounting the achievements in the financial mess clean up, he failed to talk about the loss of jobs that the cleanup cost Ghanaians.
“Serwaa between 2014-2016 there was something we called Assets Quality Reports review and it was clear to the industry players that things weren’t well. I am a banker. I used to work in the banking industry before I moved into politics. I use to work with Capital Bank before it collapsed. I was a staff” Collins Adomako said
“So the collapse led you into politics?” Serwaa queried. The MP however debunked that claim and said it wasn’t the collapse that caused his entry into politics. He mentioned that he received a call from his manager that there was a problem and then things came down crushing.
He noted that even as a staff he knew the banks had a problem. He maintained that he had different reasons for entering into politics. He added that he even worked with GCB for some time after the collapse of some banks.
Were the achievements enumerated by Bawumia entirely genuine? Was it evident that Adomako entered politics to secure a job? Share thoughts!
