Governance Is Nothing When The People Are Suffering - The Frustrations Of Some Ghanaians

Many youth in Ghana applauded Nana Akuffo Addo, when he implemented NABCO and other life changing policies. Can the same thing be said today?

As at now four (4) months, September, October, November and December, 2021 stipends as a Nabco Trainees has not being paid. What at all is holding the President from paying ?

Some of them have been posted to areas where we have no other choice than to rent a room, pay bills, feed ourselves and our immediate families with this same GHS 699.75

For Christ's sake they are also graduates. They are as well growing older and older without jobs, and are gradually losing hope in our leaders. Some are going through hell in our country as future leaders.

The question is Why did we get here. Is it lack of foresight or forecast? Is it about misplaced priorities? We are just going in circles? How many indigenous banks is the government creating?

How many indigenous companies are we nurturing? We talk about good policies, initiatives, cost cutting strategies, revenue generation strategies in speeches but we practice them less?

It is not about speeches, it is not about SOD cutting, Your Excellency. It's about action. Enough of the haste decisions (Implementing New curriculum without text books, changing academic calendar to semester without consultation, halting tolls while E-levy is not implemented and others.

It is about time the Government pause and evaluate the policies (NEIP, YEA, GEA, NABCO, Venture Capital, ETC) than rushing to introducing new policies like YouStart. All these policies have turned into political tools.

We pretend to create entrepreneurs with YouStart and this will turn out to be a fiasco. Expand the existing companies immediately and build entrepreneurs gradually. Stop giving Ghanaian youths pocket money and provide them with a job.

Mr. President you left an indelible mark in the minds of Ghanaians about your personality but it seems it was a mirage. Show it! Prove it! Practice it! We know politics have taken the lead but it is not too late to be a citizen.

Some Nabco trainees to work with empty stomach because we are afraid we won't be validated. Nabco Trainees are really adding up to productivity. Governance is nothing when the people are suffering.
