The member of Parliament representing the people of Tamale North Constituency, Honorable Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini says he wonders why Investigative Journalist, Manasseh Azure voted against former President Mahama in 2016 and also refused to vote against Presidentd Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo in 2020.
The Tamale North MP was reacting to a Facebook post by Manasseh Azure today, December 26, 2021.
The post center was in memory of a quote by South African popular clergyman, the late Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu who is being mourned across the globe.
The retired Archbishop and anti-apartheid icon died peacefully in a care center at the age of 90 today, December 26, 2021.
The quote which was alluded to by Manasseh was to the effect that any person who decides to stay neutral even when an injustice is being sanctioned is by himself supporting the injustice.
”If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse, and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality” said the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
In this vein, the Tamale North MP sought to suggest that Manasseh Azure voted against Mahama on the basis that there was a lot of hardship during his tenure but failed to do same to Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo in 2020.
In this vein, Manasseh Azure has remained neutral in the midst of injustice under the current government.
He is therefore surprised that the Journalist would decide to speak against the very thing he is doing.
