One of the National Peace Council members, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu's photos as a young man popped up when he was celebrating his 100th birthday. He was born in 23rd April 1919. He is also a Ghanaian Islamic cleric who currently serves as the National Chief Imam of Ghana. This great man is a founder of the Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu Education Trust Fund (The SONSETFund).
Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, also known as the Grand Mufti, is the chief Imam who has held the position since 1993. He started his education at home from his father. After sometime, he was sent to Kumasi and was taught by Abdullah Dan Tano. Abdullah Dan Tano lectured him through Arabic Literature, Arabic Grammar and Text, Hadiths and Jurisprudence. Later he devoted his time in teaching the Muslim youth who want to become scholars and Islamic thinkers.
