The president, his excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been seen on several occasions celebrating the Islamic festival alongside the Muslims. The president after he was spotted with the Vice President today during the celebration today was heavily criticized. Nana Addo was seen with the Chief Imam and his Vice happily celebrating the festival.
However, many concerned Ghanaians feel this was not to celebrate the festival with the Muslims but rather find this as a means to publicly reveal themselves as choice for the people. The reason why many think that this celebration mode is seen all the time is because the Npp have no other intention than to politicize everything they get their hands on.
It’s a campaign and not a celebration- social media users descended on Nana Addo and Bawumiah with Nana Addo being the main target as making Bawumiah take over the screens in a background campaigning mode. Although many countered these allegations and called these accusers bitter, they gave evidence and occasions during the celebration where they revealed that the Npp are only doing politics like they always do.
This is referred to as a weak basis to state emphatically that they were in an act of politics since both Npp and Ndc have been seen in the same position. They claim all the former presidents from both parties have celebrated all the festivals despite their religious backgrounds and hence this belief should be boycotted.
