On Judgement Day, There Shall be Weeping and Gnashing of Teeth - Okudzeto Ablakwa

The honorable Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa, the revealer and exposer of the stench in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), says on judgment day, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, and this is because of a scandalous action with regards to the National Cathedral.

According to Okudzeto, the government did not follow the procurement process to construct the National Cathedral.

Concerning the Public Procurement Act 2003(Act 663), any state-owned enterprise project must go through a procurement process through the Public Procurement Authority (PPA).

However, it has been revealed by Mr. Frank Mante, the Chief Executive of the PPA, that their office did not have any information whatsoever about the construction of the National Cathedral when honourable Okudzeto Ablakwa requested information (RTI) on the procurement status of the National Cathedral.

Furthermore, there is no waiver granted by the PPA board or ratification as they may consider under exceptional circumstances even if the government followed due process to make an exception provided under the law by Section 14(3) of Act 663.

According to Okudzeto, when it comes to the NPP, this is yet another significant addition to the already countless cases of flagrant violation of the 1992 constitution and other laws of Ghana.

Meanwhile, this NNP government has prosecuted political opponents, jailed some, and then served as an elated conveyor belt in a conspiracy that removed an electoral commissioner from office, all in the name of alleged procurement breaches.

Given this, Okudzeto Ablakwa has concluded that, on judgment day, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
