It's A Sin If You Fail To Pay Tithes - Chaplain

The Chaplain of New Nsutam Senior High Technical School in the eastern region, Mr daniel danso Tanoh affectionately called DDT who doubles as the caretaker of Nsutam welsey Methodist Church has revealed that waded into the debates of Tithe payment.

According to him, those who fail to pay tithes are doing unlawful and disobeying God so it's a sin if anyone who need s to pay tithe refuses to pay.

Speaking on Radio 1, the experienced Man of God said its a command from God to pay and that there are a lot of blessings also associated with paying tithe.

Mr Daniel Danso Tanoh supported his arguement with Malachi 3 : 8-12;

8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’“ In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.

DDT added that just as Christians emulate Christ, then one needs to pay tithe because Jesus Christ paid tithe.

"Jesus Christ was born and bred a Jew and Jews paid tithe so there is no way Jesus Christ never paid tithe. Again, Jesus Christ once ordered his disciples to go for fishing and asked them to pick money from the mouth of the fish to pay their tithes. So if Jesus was against payment of tithes, why would he do that? - DDT posited.
