
Omanhene from the new traditional area of Huaben, Daasebre Oti Boateng, dies aged 83 after a brief illness
The final funeral and burial ceremonies of the late Omanhene of New Juaben Dasebre Oti Boateng and the late Queen Mother Nana Yaa Daani II are currently taking place at Yadom Khvedie Palace in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
Thousands of people mourned at Yadon Hevedi Palace to mourn two members of the Juaben Baru royal family.
President Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Ado led a government funeral delegation on Saturday, which included other politicians as well as diplomats and other high-ranking officials.
President Akufo-Ado also named Omanhene of Old Huaben, Nana Otuo Siriboe II, who was the brother of the late Daasebre Oti Boateng.
Honorary Professor Emmanuel Oti Boateng is the head of New Huaben, an Asanteman War refugee settlement founded in 1875 in the east.
He succeeded his blood brother Nana Quaku Boateng II as supreme leader of New Juaben in 1992 and took the name of the chair Daasebre.
