“Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.”
Revelation 12:10 NKJV
The main job description of the devil is accusation.Constantly, he looks for an opportunity to level accusations against the believer and ultimately reduce him to ashes. He takes derived power from the scripture that says: “ THE SOUL THAT SINNETH SHALL DIE”. He knows that sin is a curse! He also knows and has rehearsed all the laws that are against us. This gives him a case (litigation) as well as pieces of evidence against the believer. You see, this is why a christian must allow the Word of God to dwell richly in him so as to stand against the devils devices. The Word is a defensive and an offensive weapon against the devil.
What does he accuse us of?
“lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.”
[II Corinthians 2:11 NKJV]
The sad news is, most Christians are ignorant of his devices; we just enjoy religion. This scripture was in the context of forgiveness. Now, the sin of unforgivingness is an opportunity for satan to accuse you. Unforgivingness is a mystery in the spirit with dire consequences; and any time you hold back forgivingness from a brother as a christian, you unknowingly invite demons to do business with.(Matthew 18 :32-33)
“We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.”
[I John 5:18 NKJV];You need to read (Zechariah 3:1-3)
Truth is, a christian does not enjoy sin because the seed of God in him abhors all forms of unrighteousness. Unfortunately, this is not the case for all christians. A young or baby christian, who has not yet yielded to the leadings of the Spirit is vulnerable to sin (hamartano). He is bound to habitually manifest the works of the flesh known as ‘hamartanō’ in Greek. This sin must not be confused with the nature of the devil which is ‘hamartia’ in Greek. A christian cannot commit hamartia (Greek) because he has received Christ.
However, both sins (hamartia &hamartano) are problematic! Whereas one is a sin (unbelieving) unto death which is the nature of the devil, the other gives the devil the legal grounds to touch the believer (Zechariah 3:2-3). Why? Because sin is a curse! What we do not know is that, it saddens God to see a christian being bullied by satan because of ignorance. That is why you must know! The hallmark of a victorious christian is knowledge; knowledge in the WORD OF TRUTH!
How to 💪🏻🔥Win Your Case against the Devil
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word...”
[Revelation 12:11 NKJV]
You can also overcome the devil on legal grounds by two things; the Blood and the Word. The blood of sprinkling reverses every accusation against you (Heb 12:24). Also, the Word of God sanctifies and cleanses us from all forms of unrighteousness.( John 17:17; Eph 5:26).
