(THIS IS THE EVIDENCE) - On the 19min and 30seconds bit of this video on TV3, One-on-one with Diana Hamilton after winning VGMA Artiste of the year - YouTube (VIDEO), it was revealed by a long standing friend and now anchor with TV3, Cookie and also by the VGMA Artist of the Year, Diana Hamilton, that, KiDi's biological father is an ordained Reverend Minister of God.
Interestingly also, KiDi is a member of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), and in fact, a regular church attender, all details about his spirituality was revealed in the link shared above.
In a case of twists however, KiDi who is just 28years now and still unmarried, became a father of a baby boy at the tender age of 23years. Interestingly, he fathered the baby, even before he came to national fame and his baby mama, is also older than him and they are no longer together, despite the fact that, they have a cordial relationship now, due to the boy, they have together.
According to him, he found ways to keep his fathering a baby secret, due to the nature of our African society, but somehow found it needful to reveal him to the world, when the child, celebrated his 3rd birthday, two years ago. This means that, his child is now 5years old and from the pictures, he is certainly a handsome young man, and the father simply calls him by the nick name, "Young Sugar."
KiDi, on the other hand, may have never had this good life, that the child may be enjoying. His father, the Reverend, had four (4) women in his life, before passing on eventually sadly. The young Ghanaian musician, KIDI, had revealed the kind of tough life he had to endure as a child after his father died when he was only seven years in an interview he had with Delay, sometime back.
According to KIDI, armed robbers had attacked them one night and his father was given severe beatings of his life and as a result, the father, Mr. Dwamena, became seriously sick and after he had battled with the sickness for a long time, died. During those times, his parents had separated and so he was living with his step-mother, and life was not easy.
According to KIDI, born Dennis Nana Dwamena, his mother got wind of the kind of treatment he was suffering in the hands of his step-mother while his father was still alive, and so she came to take him away to live with her.
His mother had also remarried after separating from his father, KIDI disclosed and in all, KIDI believes the way his family life turned out has affected him one way or the other. He believes also that if he had lived together with his family under the same roof, his life story would have been different.
All the same, he is very proud of the man he has grown up to be. “My father had four women in all, and my mother was the third. I believe things would have been different if I had lived with my parents and siblings under one roof. But who knows, perhaps if I had lived with them, they would have pampered me and I would not even get to where I am now. So I believe it’s all good,” KIDI had said.
KIDI was the winner of MTN Hit maker season four in 2015, and he is the maker of the hit song “Odo” and made a remix of “Odo” with Nigeria superstars, Davido and Mayorkun,
Most recently, he was also tipped to win the VGMA Artist of the Year award, but it escaped him again and has since revealed also that he is very determined to work harder. But in a more recent interview, he revealed why his might have lost in, on the highly renowned music award in Ghana, as in an interview with Tony Best on Akoma FM’s Entertainment 360 he had said that:
“When I took the first award, I didn’t talk too much, the second too, I spoke less in my acceptance speech, but when I took the 3rd award, it boosted my confidence and at that point I felt I was so close to winning the Artiste of the Year, the reason I said, ‘I will be back'. But at the point, I felt God said, ‘my guy, you’re becoming too proud for my liking’. The four you have received is okay, go home with it.".
