The confirmation was part of the Bishop's canonical visit to the School to undertake religious programs and interact with the students of the school.
During the service which was officiated by the Bishop himself, he charged the comfirmandi to always remember Christ in everything that they do and live a chastised life and allow the blessed sacrament which they have received dwell in their hearts. In a homily, he asked all the faithful of the church to continue to pray for the newly confirmed students and be a guide for them even after leaving school.
"It was a delight to once again join our young girls at OLA Senior High School in Ho for celebration of the Holy Eucharist, and more importantly, administer the sacrament of Confirmation, on Sunday, July 18, 2021.
In all, 141 candidates, including one student from Mawuli School, received the Holy Sacrament under my hands.
Through this sacrament, these young ones have affirm themselves in the Catholic faith, and become true witnesses to the life and teachings of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
I entreat therefore, everyone one of us to continue to pray for them, to grow strong in the faith and not depart from it, especially upon leaving school.
My special appreciation to the staff and the team, led by Rev. Fr. Alex Akpah, the Chaplain for preparing the students for this journey.
Peace be with you all !" The Bishop said.
