Two dead at Mankessim after pastor forced them to be baptized in river
Two innocent souls has been perished this morning, after the pastor of Anointing Church, forced them to be baptized to show their new status in Christ. Baptizing someone, which was quoted by the biblical scholars, started as early as BC, Before the birth of Christ, when John was seen baptizing others, waiting for the Messiah. The Bible scholars makes the world believe that, to be baptized means, you have been accepted into the kingdom of God, and can renew your faith when you sin, by asking for forgiveness from the Lord. John who was first seen with the act, was nicknamed John The Baptise, when he baptized the Lord Jesus according to scholars of the biblical world.
It has been with this faith, that most churches including the orthodox churches, Methodist, Catholic, Presbyterian, Anglican, and others still practices it, to help convey a new spirit into the ways of their lord and saviour. It was with this same faith, which is been practice in several churches, that saw Pastor Addai Moses to add baptism to his service, in other to convey new spirits to the Lord. He has been doing this, since the setting of his church in 2016, and nothing bad has been recorded ever, until this morning, when two of his congregants went missing in the river they used in baptizing them.
The pastor every month, brings together all the people who would like to be baptized, and with a single short ceremonies, he baptizes all of them in just one river. Pastor Addai took his March baptism congregants to the Odor River this morning, to baptize them, without knowing some were river freak. Not everyone is a water adamant, and most people are afraid of rivers, because of past experiences and bad happenings. Pastor Addai at exactly seven in the morning, took a team of six people and himself to the Odor River, where he started baptizing them one after the other.
It came to the turn of Sister Amankwaa and her 9 months child, but they couldn't go through the process peacefully. Sister Amankwaa who joined the church with Pastor Addai on February 26, was to become a full member of the church after her baptism. Sister Amankwaa and her child got to the water, as all the other four people before her did. She was one of the people who had problems with water, and talked to one of the elders of the church, about her fears for the river because of her past experiences, but none was taken serious.
Sister Amankwaa got into the water with her child, and both were to be baptised simultaneously. As the pastor held them both by the hands, to dip them into the river, something happened to Sister Amankwaa and she went under the water. Out of the remaining four people and the pastor, none of them knew how to swim in water and all they did was standing there looking, if Sister Amankwaa was going to raise from under the water with the child.
The pastor himself went under the water, after he got tired of waiting, and was able to find something. They found the child after twenty minutes of waiting, and Sister Amankwaa was nowhere to be found. The child was unconscious, and died later at the Mankessim hospital. Sister Amankwaa was later found at the bank of the river, over thirty minutes of swimming, from where they were performing the baptism. She was dead when they found her, and nothing could be done. Both Sister Amankwaa and her child died this morning, before they could end the baptism. The pastor was still at the Mankessim hospital, waiting for doctors report before going to the police to make an official statement.
Sister Amankwaa's family, is yet to decide what they will do, after the doctors report on the body. According to the family, the pastor Addai Moses, has supported them on many occasions, and it was a very sad this particular incident, did happened. They will help the police to investigate the cause of the two's death, after the report is ready.
