"You've taken the poor People's money"; fresh trouble for Pastor Otabil as Okatakyie descends on him

One of the powerful men of God in the country who is adored by many for his teachings is Mensah Otabil, the leader and founder of the International Central Gospel Church. He has inspired many with his eloquent interpretation of the scriptures. However, Mensah Otabil has come under criticism from a section of Ghanaians who say he has deliberately sat over the fence about what they describe as the mismanagement of the economy by Nana Akuffo Addo, meanwhile he chastised the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama government when things were not going well.

One of the lead conveners of the fixthecountry movement, Okatakyie Afrifa is the latest to have taken a swipe at Mensah Otabil. The former alleged that the man of God is unable to criticize the Nana Addo-led government due to the role he played in Capital Bank that led to its collapse. Speaking on the Abranasoo Show on TV XYZ, today November 13, Okatakyie Afrifa maintained that, Pastor Mensah Otabil is walking a free man today due to his friendship with the president.

His comment follows a word of God delivered by Mensah Otabil to the effect that, he ( Mensah Otabil) didn't understand why society is not comfortable when the church spends money to undertake a simple project, but the same society praise private individuals who do so. Otabil added that even those who built the tallest building in the world, the Burj khalifa, have not solved all the poverty problems in the world.

But Okatakyie Afrifa pointed out that, those who built the Burj khalifa did not take collections from anyone to do so unlike Mensah Otabil. He said, "He( the one who built the Burj khalifa) did not take money from anyone to do so, but in this case you( Mensah Otabil) have the poor People's money, thus collections".
