Over the past few weeks a number of issues have arisen as a result of payment to Article 71 holders and public servants. This has got many Ghanaians lambasting the government and those at the top of governance for draining and exploiting the local populace. Today, Monday, July 19, 2021 Captain Smart threw caution to the wind and queried why some Public servants’ heads are taking so much.
Captain Smart charged on some leading Pastors in the country with emphasis on Mensa Otabil, the leader and founder of the International Central Gospel Church. Captain explained that he doesn’t see why the influential speaker is quiet about the bad things going on in the country. He called on Mensa Otabil and his fellow colleagues to rise and act before it gets late.
I am asking Mensah Otabil a question. Mensa Otabil, where are you? You guys shouldn’t wait until the unexpected happens before you sit and tell us you have a body called Peace Council. Don’t wait oo. Is this how to protect the public purse? This is a lie. Nana Addo if you are not aware of it, then so be it but if you are aware then you are a bad person. If you don’t take care people will forget your Free SHS” captain added.
Indeed, the ordinary Ghanaian has a reason to worry when heads of public institutions are entitled to Tool allowance, height allowance etc. The amount received is sometimes bigger than the salaries of many people. If our leaders claim they came to serve, then why do they accept such monies? Captain may not be fa from the truth as many of our Christian leaders including their traditional and Muslim leaders have allowed the politicians to have a field day.
