LGBT Office In Kwabenya Finally Shut Down After Public Outcry [Photos]

Since the news of LGBTQI office opening ceremony hit the country, there have been various calls from well meaning Ghanaians asking for the shut down of the office. The Catholic Church and the Pentecostal Churches in the country have all called that the office be closed.

This pressure made the president to order the National Investigative Bereau (NIB) and the Ghana Police Service to ensure that the office is closed down.

The NIB and the Police has since closed down the office. In photos that have been shared online, it can be seen that the police were at the premises of the LGBT office in Kwabenya in Accra. They used chains and huge padlocks to close the office.

Members of the LGBT community who were present at the office were asked to move out as the police closed the offices. This will hopefully calm the nerves of residents of Kwabenya who had threatened to closed down the office if the police does nothing about it.
